They're Back!

Yesterday was the third Friday of the month. Which means that youth group was at Paster Ken's house. The only thing missing from his house for a month was him and the rest of the youth group kids. They were all on a missions trip in Africa. They had a full day on the the plane and a whole new time zone. Their outcome was over 1000 people became followers of Christ. Cindy even told us a story of her own experience with one of the kids in Africa. he was a older boy, in his mid teens. When Cindy first meet him he had burned hands. He told her that he had fallen asleep next to a fire place and his hands got into the ashes that were still hot from a couple hours before. She didn't have medicine the first day but she told him she would bring him some the next along with some ibuprofen as well. When she went to bed she told she had been thinking of an event that really changed her. A couple of years ago Cindy worked in the Medical Feild. She was one of the people on a paramedics. One day her team was told that it would be a "stand by" until the end of their shifts. A couple of men where working on some power lines. But then it turned into an emergency. The man who was at the top his ladder made the wrong move and the wires started sparking. By the time Cindy's crew had gotten the call and arrive, the man was still on the ladder but he was burning. He had help to get him down and to extinguish the fire on his body. He was horribly burned. In the ambulance the man said something about heaven. Cindy at the time was just introduced to her fait in God, but she wishes she had known more so she could tell that man about Jesus and how he could've been saved that night before he died. This was a hard story for Cindy to tell because she felt like she could've done something. Now she though, well God is giving me this chance to help this boy in Africa. She had time to treat his hands but she had to write her story in a letter to the kid, she also told him more about Jesus and having a relationship wit God and all the other good stuff. This trip really changed a lot of the leaders and their kid's lives. The kids from the youth group learned dances and songs for the kids, they played with them and talked to them. They said it was really sad, but they had a lot of fun as well. Total Impact is planning to go again next year.
